Annual accounts for ordinary, non-listed Italian companies are not free to retrieve. Registro Imprese and Telemaco charge per document for filed bilanci, and CONSOB's free disclosures cover only the roughly two hundred companies listed on the stock exchange.

Registro dei Titolari Effettivi: Access to this register changed twice in 2026. A decree in force since January 2026 already tightened private party access, then a Court of Justice of the EU ruling on 21 May 2026 lifted a litigation driven suspension that had blocked the register's operation since 2024. A further decree in force since 23 July 2026 replaces general public access with a legitimate interest test, and practical access still awaits an implementing decree from Italy's Ministry of Enterprises.
What you may collect
You may collect and store entity level facts: legal form, VAT status, trademark and patent filings, procurement awards. Registro Imprese and Telemaco both surface partner and director names, which are personal data under the GDPR, so treat them as reference you look up rather than data you warehouse. The beneficial ownership register's access rules changed twice in 2026 and are still tightening; treat any lookup there as requiring a demonstrated legitimate interest, not open browsing.
A working routine
A workable weekly routine: search Gazzetta Ufficiale Parte II for a competitor's merger, liquidation or insolvency notices, check the Registro Imprese for changes to their basic registration, run a monthly UIBM search for new trademarks or patents, and watch ANAC's open procurement data if they compete for Italian government contracts.
